Sega has announced that a Godzilla game based on the hit movie will be one of Dreamcast's first released games. I have saw a few pictures of the game and it does look good but its really to early to tell what the final game will look like. Capcom Entertainment has confirmed that Marvel vs. Capcom will not be coming to home systems this year. Capcom has yet to determine which platform the game will eventually be on. Could Capcom be waiting on the next-gen systems to come out if so Sega's Katana could be the one Capcom chooses for the game.

4/15/98 Tekken 3 To Set New Record

Retailers are ordering as many Tekken 3 units as they can get. Sources say that of the roughly one million units that Namco has to sell, most of them have already been sold to retail. These are astonishing figures but the real test will be to see how many units actually reach the consumer's Playstation. Expect Tekken 3 to become the fastest selling Playstation game ever.

4/7/98 MLB Featuring Ken Griffey Jr. Update.

MLB Featuring Ken Griffey Jr.™ is set for a May release. It will feature real world parks, players, and physics.

The only changes to the game recently have been mostly cosmetic. When you first turn on the N64 you will hear Griffey himself say "I'm Ken Grifeey Jr. and welcome to Major League Baseball." Unfortunately the famous N64 blurriness problem exists in this game. The camera angles have been improved upon also. I can't wait to see this game at 100%.

3/31/98 Centipede Is Back!

Midway's new restaurant style touch screen game system will feature 28 games one of which is a new version of Centipede. The new Centipede is a reprogrammed version of the original game. In place of the trackball you simply drag your index finger over the playfield (the cannon fires automaticaly). The game is time based instead of life based, and shooting clock power-ups will increase your playtime.

3/23/98 New Koei Game Like FFVII

Zill 0'11 is Koei's new game. It looks shockingly like FFVII. The battle screens, FMV, and the design of the games characters look exactly like FFVII.

So far based on the early screenshots I have seen Zill 0'11 looks great. Zill 0'11 should be released in late 1998 in Japan there is no U.S release date scheduled as of yet.

3/14/98 Sega Saturn Gets Ditched

Following the announcement that Sega Enterprises would be losing an approximated 47 billion yen ($366 million in U.S dollars) with it's overseas divisions. Reports have come out that Sega will be ceasing production of the Saturn and it's software in the U.S. Sega has stated that it is expecting losses of around 10.5 billion yen while it is preparing the Katana for launch.

Sega has also said that it might reorganize it's three overseas game divisions to reduce the cash losses. The three divisions in question are Sega Entertainment, Sega of America, and Sega Soft. This certainly isn't good news for loyal Saturn gamers.

3/10/98 Game Boy In Color

The most popular handheld game system of all time is getting an awesome new color screen. The new screen will be the same size as the current Game Boy. Nintendo says that the new Game Boy will run on a single set of batteries for longer than 10 hours. The current Game Boy games will be playable on the new Game Boy but will probably use an adaptor like the Super Game Boy just my guess.

The new Game Boy should be available in Japan this summer and will cost an estimated $70.

3/2/98 Need For Speed 3

Wow, could it be another Need For Speed game? Yes it is and it looks increddible. Need For Speed 3 uses the same game engine as last year but it has many improvements over last years game. It will offer more than 10 tracks some new cars and better artificial intelligence.

EA of Canada will release the game later this month. The artificial intelligence is being redone to make the drivers more agressive after you cut them off or tailgate them. Also the police will now set up road blocks to catch you.

More customization features have also been added. Look for a preview sometime soon on my site with screenshots.

All previously announced projects are still planed to come out but some future products have been canceled.

2/11/98 Greatest Nine 98

Greatest Nine 98 is slated for a March release in Japan but is not currently listed as a North American Release. Gratest Nine 98 will live or die depending on a new mode called 'Nari-kiri'. More on this mode later. You can expect new camera angles, revised stats and rosters and an edit trade feature. I will have a preview later.

2/5/98 Resident Evil 2 to Crush FFVII Sales Mark

Resident Evil 2, which released on Jan. 29th in Japan sold 1.8 million titles by the end of that day. U.S sales have topped 700,000. The total sales have surpassed Capcom's goal of 2 million units.

In comparison Final Fantasy VII sold 2 million copies in its first three days. That number should be topped by Resident Evil 2.

Sega's upcoming console system is not only a game system but will offer online connectivity as well. You will be able to connect to a Special Sega server and be able to send and recieve email, surf the web, and download and play games with other system owners all across the globe. Since Microsoft is in on the development there will probably be a Microsoft browser. Let's just hope the price of this system isn't too high.

1/14/98 Is Sega In Trouble?

Sega Enterprises Ltd said on Tuesday that it has reduced their US based Sega of America by 25 percent. This is due to the 32-bit Saturns sluggish sales over the last year. Sega declined to give the number of people working on the production of the games and hardware but Jiii news an agency in Japan reported that Sega of America had eliminated about 100 workers. Sega said that it has plans of a new system to be launched in 1999. Is that to long to wait only time will tell.
